CWE is providing the Rio Hondo/San Gabriel River Water Quality Group (RH/SGRWQG) with Coordinated Integrated Monitoring Program (CIMP) Implementation services. This group is comprised of the cities of Arcadia, Azusa, Bradbury, Duarte, Monrovia, and Sierra Madre. It also encompasses the County of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County Flood Control District (LACFCD). Carefully planned and opportunistically timed stormwater collection events are conducted to provide the group with ongoing high-quality results. CWE tracks incoming storms to prepare for the mobilization of dozens of staff that are key to the sample gathering process.
The coordinated efforts from non-stormwater outfall screening and stormwater events lay the groundwork for the county’s future infrastructure plans. A strong understanding of where the pollutants or biologicals are most densely concentrated in the water help the county make informed decisions when implementing environmental improvement efforts.
