Port of Long Beach Port-Wide Capital Improvement Stormwater Infrastructure Master Plan

The Port of Long Beach (POLB) stormwater infrastructure system includes 35 miles of storm drain, 268 manholes, 334 inlets, 15 pump stations, covers a 1,490-acre area, and collects and discharges stormwater runoff from approximately 3,200 acres of development within the Harbor District. To manage stormwater infrastructure more efficiently and plan for future needs, the POLB identified a need to develop the Port-Wide Stormwater Infrastructure Master Plan.

CWE assisted in preparing this Plan by performing drainage studies, creating a hydrologic and hydraulic model using XP-SWMM, and providing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) auditing services. The Plan will guide and prioritize planning and capital improvements for the POLB stormwater system, enhance water quality, and ensure adequate capacity for the next 20 years.
