County of Orange John Wayne Airport On-Call Environmental Engineering

CWE provided On-Call Environmental Engineering Services to John Wayne Airport (JWA). This contract included as-needed items, such as Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), spill response and reporting, stormwater program management and implementation, Underground Storage Tank (UST) and Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) program management and compliance support, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, soil and groundwater remedial investigation and feasibility studies, air quality permitting, indoor air monitoring and risk assessment, environmental compliance audits, and construction support. CWE assisted the airport with the implementation of its Stormwater Management Program and facility Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to comply with the Orange County Municipal National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater Permit, Statewide Industrial Stormwater General Permit, and Construction General Permit. Tasks performed included: sampling and analysis of stormwater discharges and response to non-stormwater discharges; operation and maintenance of stormwater sampling equipment; preparation of annual stormwater reports; stormwater compliance inspections of the airport and its tenants, including recordkeeping and reporting; Illicit Connection/Illegal Discharge (IC/ID) field investigations; construction site audits and inspections to evaluate ongoing environmental compliance; technical assistance to construction contractors; identification of construction Best Management Practices (BMPs) requiring maintenance; and recommendations for alternative BMPs to ensure construction projects are in compliance with stormwater regulations.
